45 vendors join coming-out party

PASS CHRISTIAN - Gearing up for the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, residents and businesses came together here Wednesday evening to celebrate the city's ongoing recovery efforts.
More than 45 Pass Christian businesses set up tables at War Memorial Park to display their wares and services and spread the word that, despite the storm, they are open for business. Residents had the chance to peruse the booths, dance to live music and chow down on a free buffet sponsored by DuPont DeLisle.
The event was co-sponsored by the Pass Christian Chamber of Commerce.
The Board of Aldermen was on hand to give a special thanks to DuPont with a key to the city for its commitment to Pass Christian before and since the storm. "DuPont DeLisle and its employees play a vital role in the economy of this area," said Mayor pro tem Chipper McDermott. "Once again after Katrina, they were here with much-needed aid and assistance to our city."
